While replacing my front brakes, I noticed that the left strut is starting to leak and will, soon, need replacement. What options are out there that will maintain the stock ride? This is a daily long commute car, not a race car.

i always see people parting out there stock suspension as well... i will keep an eye out for you

 

Which year A6 do you have? Which engine?

 

I've used Bilsteins on several makes of cars and trucks over the years and have liked them, so I figured I'd try a pair when I rebuilt the front end of my '99 A6Q(240K miles) this winter. The shock cylinder was slightly larger but they fit fine. Handling returned after installing all the new aluminum bits, and the shocks do their job quite well and are no harsher than OEM.
