Hey Guys,

Just picked up 2002 A6 3.0L Quattro with 36k miles. I have heard that timing-belt change is highly recommended. The car only has 36k miles but it is almost 5 years old. Do I need to change the timing-belt soon because the car is 5 years old or do the timing-belt last longer since I only have 36k miles on the clock?

74k miles change timesfor that one but an inspection is recommended because of the year and low mileage chances are it will be good as new

 

So, I shouldn't have to worry because it has low miles? Also, which engine oil do you guys recommend? I have always used Mobile 1 0w40 on all my cars except the Mase and the M3 (use Mobile 1 15w50 for Mase and use Castrol TWS 10w60 for M3)...

 

0w/40 / 5W/30 minimum Mobil 1 and have a good look at the timing belt to ease your mind ( if in doubt change it ) only advice I can give

 

ps: would I be worried about the timing belt???? NO
