so by this ur saying anyone with HIDs now is Ricer?
I don't think he really meant it in the traditional "ricer" sense. What he meant was that if you go REALLY blue (more than 6000k), then they don't look like a factory installation. The only ultra blue HIDs are aftermarket, so by putting some REALLY blue ones in, "car enthusiasts" will automatically know that you put in some aftermarket ones. With a milder color like 4300k (which many people suggest) you'll still be able to tell that they are HIDs, it'll just look like your car came equipped with HID lights from the factory. So when you buy mild HIDs like 4300k you're basically fooling other people into thinking that your car came equipped with them when you bought it, so nobody assumes you put them in yourself as an aftermarket "mod." I hope you get what I'm saying.

That's what he meant by implying the "ricer" thing. There are plenty of Hondas and so forth that have insanely blue HIDs (those are "cool" in the street scene) that any proper car guy (or girl!!) can tell right off the bat that they are aftermarket. On the street, the more blue your HIDs, the more "thug" you are. If you embrace that culture, then please, by all means, get the bluest of the blue you can find, but at that point you're kinda just running them for show. Remember: The lower the ('k') value, the brighter the HIDs are. So, 4300k bulbs are significantly brighter than 8000k bulbs.

It all comes down to this "equation":
4300k = decent bling, more light
6000k = substantial bling, less light
More than 8000k = All bling

There ARE some cars that have very blue HIDs. Recent Acuras and Cadillacs have deeper blue HIDs than our Audis do, but they still aren't as blue as some of the aftermarket kits you see.

Haha. Hey, it's your car man. 6000k do look good, I won't lie. They aren't really over-doing it yet, and I personally like that bluish tint. It looks cool. I just wanted to make sure you knew that you WILL lose some light output the bluer you go. If you read up on some other forums, some people nearly hate it after swapping to higher temp (6000k, 8000k) lights because they got used to brightness of the OEM 4300k and now they can't see stuff they used to. They DO look cooler though. No doubt about it.

And don't worry about the rice comments, either. Only a fool would say that swapping from a 4300k to a 6000k makes your car go from "euro elegance" to "rice trash." Some of these guys need to redefine what they call "rice."

So don't sweat it....
