New problem, Audi A6 won't start up!

RE: More updates about Audi A6 won't start up!
Sorry Gil,
What I meant is it didn't fix the problem that we have in common with the hard starting. My mechanic friend thought it would fix the issue. It did fix another issue I was having that I have not mentioned previously where my CEL would flash when I rapidly accelerated to about 120KPH (70 MPH). The thing doesn't flash any more so I guess I took a step in the right direction.
As I mentioned in one of my other replies, I am not a techie and really don't know what the codes all mean. Just a frustrated (and ex-wife poor) Audi Owner that would like to be able to get this issue with the starting fixed.
Cheers!
PS Have a look at some of the other sites and forums I found hits on:

I had the same problem with my A6. It turned out to be the fuel pressure regulator. To check to see if its bad, just turn the key to the "on" postion for about 10 sec. Then pull the vacuum line off the regulator. If it is "wet" or fuel runs out of it then its shot. My starts right up now.

A couple of questions,
Knowing my newbie/rookie status......where is the fuel pressure regulator located? Which hose (assuming there are intake and output sides) is the vacuum side?
DIgital pic would be nice if it is easyer for you to describe and not too much bother.
Thanks,
Marc

Its on the top of the motor, passenger side near the rear of the motor. Its about 1" around and 1 1/2" long. Look for the fuel line coming up to it. You don't even need any tools to replace it. Just pull the clip up and pull it out.

audi a6 2.7t wont start but has power .....
Ok so I just got the audi and the later that night the car acts up alittle first. It dies when the car was just sitting in drive away at ide turned right back on then sometime it felt like it had alittle lack of power... but drove great most of the time then had the car parked a few hours and go outside to start it up. Won't turn over so I read some post on here and tryed a few things.. didn't start. But one thing did get it to start was putting starting fuild in the throttle body and turned on... and put mass air flow cleaner in the mass air flow to.. but the car is not fixed so I need help on what it could be I heared it could be the gas reguarl they said turn the car on the on pos for ten sec then pull of the hose and if gas leaks I need a new gas reg. Can I test that when the car is acting up or when its working right or it does not matter ..

Starter is sporadic
I have had a 1999, a 2003 and now have a 2006 Audi A6. All of them had starter problems. Occasionally, the starter does nothing when the key is turned. Sometimes it starts the second time; sometimes I have gone as many as 20 times. It's not that that car struggles to start, the key produces no response. I turn the key around, I use a different key, I fiddle with the shift and/or the steering wheel. Nothing in particular works. And finally it starts - now seemingly with no problem. I have recently had Audi put in a new battery with no effect.
