Newbie needs some help
Well here we go. I just bought a 2000 A6 Quattro on impulse and I may have bought a huge headache. I will have lots of questions but I am starting up front. The driver side fog lamp doesn't work (replaced bulb) I assume the work on the same relay? Gotta be a wiring problem? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Willkommen to the forums!
congrats on the purchase of your huge headache. I would love to help you, but sabresfan? really? no help for you!
just busting your chops a bit. I assume you are having a problem with the driver's side FRONT fog light, from your question? if a new bulb didn't cut it, break out the tester and check for voltage/continuity. then move on from there.
not for this specific question, but in the future, it is helpful to know engine and transmission of your 2000 A6. most folks put that stuff in their signature. makes it easier for the guru guys to get a good read on what the problem might be.
good luck with the car
be sure to come back when you have other "issues". lots of good knowledgeable folks here to try and help you out.
have fun

Thanks! It is a 2.8L automatic Quattro and yes drivers side. I did break out the MM but I am a real novice when it comes to that stuff. I unplugged the lamp and stuck the probes in. I didn't get much of a reading. What should I see? Should I have the MM set on V or MiliV?
thanks again for the help!
