I ran into a rather strange CEL issue over the past few days. It started out by my car's transmission started having some harsh downshifts. Today the CEL light came on after which I cut loose with some strong language. I thought I was looking at some major buckage. Just by chance I shifted into neutral while coming to a stop and the CEL light disappeared. It also seemed that the downshifts became somewhat smoother. I'm not sure if it reset the transmission's logic, but it seemed to work.
