Default Oil Change

I think taht I have made a mistake. I have a 1998 A6 6 cylinder. The dash light went on saying that I needed to change the oil. I jacked the car up and saw two "oil plugs" one with a hex head beside the oil filter and another further back which had a hole for an alenn wrench. Though taht one was for the oil cooler and the other was the oil sump. I drained both, changed the filter and filled the car with the recomended 6.3 quarts of oil. I drained quite a bit more than six quarts so I get the feeling that I drained the transmission as well. Neededless to say I am not driving the car until I find out what I did.
Thanks for your help.

Yup you dumped the tranny oil. Depending on your comfort level you can do it yourself or tow it to an indy shop. I have attached a link to show you what is involved in a do it yourself. It is a link for a A8 but I don't think there is much difference in the steps involved. Regardless if you do it yourself or have a shop do it you might as well change the filter. I hope this helps. Good luck
