1. switch ignition off
2. press and hold down reset button for trip odometer in instrument claster
3. switch ignition on while button is pressed down. "service OIL" appears in the display of the trip odometer
4. release button
5. pull setting **** for time in instrument cluster until "service OIL" indication is reset. ("_ _ _ _") appears in display
6. press reset button for trip odometer again, to advane to next service event.
7. release button
8. "service INSP" appears in display
9. pull setting **** for time , untol "service INSP" indication is reset. ("_ _ _ _ ") appears in display.
10. switch ignition Off,

Thats the sequence for the A3 not the A6.

[:@][:@][:@]That sucks, you must have got that rare version of instrument cluster that isn't programmable without the VAG COM or VAS 5052. Keep trying at it just to make sure, if it won't work your gonna have to take it to the dealer to get it set or buy an VAG COM

I found a local guy, and the service guy @ my dealership is cool, so I'm sure they will help me out.

Thanks though, I tried it like 10 times[:@] and it's getting close to 100 degrees here

hmm, have to work. Works fine at mine A6 , 99', 2.8
