Default oil leak

Hey guys, I had been experiencing the old burning oil smell for a couple months in my '03 2.7 and changed out the valve cover gaskets, which seemed to solve the problem. However, the other day after having driven home from another city (2.5 hour drive) I got out of the car and noticed the same annoying burning smell, but possibly to a lesser extent. I know I may need a new oil pan gasket very soon, but I doubt that could cause oil to drip on the exhaust. Anyone know of any other problem areas for this issue other than the valve cover gaskets (or am I wrong about the pan gasket)?
thanks

Very common problem is cam adjuster gaskets - the bank with 1-2-3 has the adjuster at the rear of the head where it is perfectly positioned to drip oil onto the exhaust manifold.

Second vote on the cam adjuster gaskets. It is a common problem on the 3.2.

Are those like half moon-shaped gaskets/seals?
(I'm yet to open the engine, that's why I'm asking. Tks)
