oil leak from drain plug? Maybe a teflon tape fix
i am at my wits end. i am gettinga slight oil leak from the oil drain plug. i have tried to replace the crushwasher and use a plastic gasket, amongst other things.
any suggestions?
would teflon tape or somethng like teflon tape help my problem?
also i do realize that i dont want any small pieces of anytape, etc floatin around in my motor.
thanks

the dealer put a crush washer in and i really believed they WAY overtightened it. noticed leak from crushwasher, plug area. tried with plastic gasket and crush washer, still leaked. tried without crush washer but with gasket, still leaking. any thoughts?
for what its worth. the guy at oreillys said the plastic gasket normally fixes most oil leak from the plug area.

are the drain plug washers also known as crush washers? do the auto shops have anything similar to the audi dealerships? I would like to get it done this weekend if possible.
at last resort, should i put some teflon tape on the socket end of the drain plug?

I don't want you putting teflon on the plug because it can break off and get in the oil pick up screen which is not ideal. I doub't they are gonna have them, audi has specific washers made for each engine so i would just go buy them in bulk from the dealer, i think they are 50 cents or something like that.

at first glance it looks like the leak was coming from the drain plug. i believe its coming from the turbo return line. the audi dealership was supposed to have fixed this, twice. any suggestions on what to do? i think i may be able to fix it myself. i have also sent the service manager emails regarding the poor workmanship of his shop.
