Default oil pan leak

can anyone help on where i can get some help or instructions on removing the oil pan and where you would recommend a place that sells a new gasket for an audi a6 2001 4.2l quattro so i can replace it, leak is bad, can anyone help? i'd appreciate it.

The pan is easy. Its right on the bottom of the engine and theres like ten bolts holding it on. As for the gasket it shouldnt be all that expensive at a dealer.

First double check that it is indeed the oil pan. I havent seen very many pans leak on the 4.2. I have a A8 with an oil leak I originally Thought was the oil cooler on the passenger side. But after further investigation I found the oil coming from the front right corner of the head gasket.
Double check before you starting taking it apart!

thanks for the info, i will look again to see where the leak is coming from, i called a few places to ask about the oil pan gasket but there is no part for it. so i am assuming its something else, i will look into it and post later what was found

If theres no part then itll use the silcone sealant as a gasket.
