Overheat - Help!!!!
On the way home today, my A6 started over heating and the needle went to hot. I pulled into an Auto Zone and checked the coolant and it was completely full. Any ideas on why it might be over heating? The car has no symptoms except for the light and heat gauge. I'm going to have to take it to the stealership in the morning and want to have an idea of what I might be looking at. Please help!!! Thanks.

Did you try turning on the heat on to see if the needle would go back to the middle? If so, it could be your thermostat.
If you're not leaking coolant, then your water pump is probably fine.

RE: Overheat - Help!!!!
I have never faced that issue with my A6 Audi '00 2.7T, and im far from a mechanic, but when i've had those symptoms from previous vehicles... it was usually that thermostat was broken. The thermostat helps the flow of cool and hot to exchange to prevent overheating. It may need replacing, not sure how difficult it is on Audis but not hard at all on most vehicles. Good Luck

It was the thermostat and was covered under my warranty. Thank God! I pick it up tomorrow evening. I'm so thankful for extended warranties! They guy at Audi was very surprised that it was covered. Good for him since I would have picked it up and taken it somewhere else.
