Hi all I've just come across this thread and also have a 2005 A6 Quattro with what appears to be a similar problem with the parking brake. In my case the brake does appear to function correctly but causes a permanent park brake malfunction warning on the dash. As it seems to be more annoying than anything else and due to the fact I'm skint after Xmas and the like I've decide to live with it for the moment.

It would be very useful to read Audi's TSB on this matter so if anybody could email it to me I'd be grateful.

I have the same issue with my parking brake on a 2005 Audi A6 and found this thread. We tried putting on the brake and then releasing it and it stuck on. Had to have it towed to the dealer. I had them try to update the software and they could not. They say I need a new parking brake module. $337.00 for the module and $178.00 in labor. Any other ideas?

Could you please mail it to me. I recently changed my front brakes and rotoes on my 2000 Audi A6. today i saw that parking brake is not releasing and shoe sign next to "P" is lighting up. Not sure what it is and what could be wrong. though I pushed it forward backward and hit it and released the **** which helped me take out the ignition keys.
Any pointers would be of great help
