Default Peeling soft touch interior paint

Have a 2003 A6 that has soft touch coating on door handles, control surfaces, etc. The coating is peeling off in several areas and Audi has told me more than once....tough luck! Any ideas on how this can be repaired? This is my 5th Audi. Never had a problem before. This one is a disaster.

I've got a 2004 A6 with the light grey interior - same problem on all 4 door handles.

+1. Been told by the local dealer (like several other issues I've encountered on my B6A41.8) "it's a common problem on this model"

I've been told there's a local shop they can refer me to that can repair it. Don't quite know how they do it and can't justify any costs to repair or replace it just yet.

Or one could trace the issue straight to the manufacturing plant in India.

Perhaps but for those of us dealing with the unsightliness of it knowing the origin of the problem does us little good.
