Hi,
Just purchased an A4 cabriolet. The soft touch entry into the boot does not seem to be working? stripped the inside panel off to have a look inside, but unable to see the central locking solenoid???? there is a space where I think it should live, and some relevent wiring, but no solenoid. Now as Ive just had the car not sure if there shoul dbe one or not, and way pic's show what is there and not as the case may be.....

 

Just to add,
1st picture looks to have housed some thing in the past?
2nd ...also there is a facility for an actuator rod to attach to the lock mechanism, ( that's missing too)
3rd..on removal of the cover, nothing inside.
I have checked the continuity of both micro switches, the one on the soft touch grip/handle and the second conected to the locking mecanism, both check out ok.
Sourced else where the part No.s for the solenoid could be 8E5962115B or C,
or 4B996211B/C
Any ideas would be welcome.........
