Performance Upgrades for a 04 2.7t s line
I have had my audi for a while now and i want to start getting into some serious upgrades. I already had planned a full custom exhaust as well as a ecu chip upgrade. Can anyone recommend me to a good build? Also does anyone know the threshold for power on the tip 5 speed auto transmission???
Not sure what you mean by a "good build", but I've been happy with my GIAC chip setup for the past 110k miles. Your tranny is the weakest link and is designed for 265hp. A chip takes it to 318hp which is probably a safe limit, although doing stupid stuff like slamming in to gear at high revs will break it for sure. My oem clutch starting slipping after 10k miles after the chip and I upgraded to a stage 2 clutch, supposedly good for 400 hp. That's an advantage with the MT6.
The stickied thread "tips for a 2.7T owner" has a ton of great information about upgrades for our car.
I started with the APR ecu upgrade, and now I am doing APR bi-pipes with the Forge diverter valves (a bundle deal from ECS Tuning). I am also putting on the S-Flo Intake from AWE Tuning, and since they will be in there doing the bi-pipes and dv, I figured go ahead and do a new throttle body boot.
I put Dunlop winter tires on the stock 17" wheels, and in the spring I will put some summer tires on new 18" wheels, and probably tint the car.
That is probably where I will stop for a bit, because I am at 60k miles right now, and I know I need to do timing belt and stuff very soon. I am also having a very weird vibration issue that 3 different shops now can't seem to diagnose, so I will be holding off on doing any exhaust/downpipes or turbos until after I get all of that figured out.
