Default Phone Mode...

I just got in my car, and my radio wouldnt change off of phone mode. I dont even havea phone..

im thinking about pulling a fuse to reset power.. but i dont have the radio code so i might have to call to get it? help!

There is a 10-pin connector on the back of the radio with three wires (for phone(+), phone(-) and mute). For some reason, the mute wier is triggering the radio to mute, which also triggers the "PHONE" status on the display. If you disconnect the 10-pin connector, it will stop doing that. No radio code needed as long as you do not disconnect the battery or pull the power connector (8-pin with red and brown wire).

You will, however, need radio keys to pull the head unit out to get to that connector. Call around to see if your local dealer or a local stereo shop have the proper keys and if they are willing topull the headunit for you. Or, put a post on your local forum to see if anyone local has the keys and can help you. Some Audi parts departments will sell the radio keys, but many do not stock them.

that mode just randomly went off and it nowworks again.. but ill definitly pull the radio and disconnect the 10pin connector. thanks for your help!
