I own a 99 a6 quattro 2.8 Autostick So I was driving to work and all the sudden the tranny refused to shift. felt like it was in 3rd but not quite. Park, drive,neutral, etc were all highlighted and it ran like garbage. I turned off the car to reset the transmission.....not enough juice to start it back up. After i jumped it it seemed ok then the radio dropped out, air failed then i was coasting. So Serp. belt was my first thought. I changed my timing belt 20k miles before and my water pump etc. It all checked out so i thought my alternator went out. Am I on the right track.
