Question about C5 A6 Wiring
Car is 1999 A6 Avant AHA 2.8 v6
It started with me troubleshooting why my electric aux fan wouldn't kick on with the AC on. It was leading to a small overheat symptom...temp gauge would go to between 1 and 2 o'clock when idling/sitting in traffic then return to top dead center when turning AC off and car moving.
I got the fan to turn on today by getting the car up to temp and turning AC on, it didn't turn on at first but then I nudged one of the blades with a small stick and it turned on and stayed on for a 45 minute drive with AC on full blast(temp gauge stayed at top dead center). I am thinking it's time to replace the fan assembly which I have ordered.
My big question is about the two wires in the photo. One is red/white and the other brown. Looks like they come off the gray/lavender(err pink) switch circled in red in the photo. Where do these broken ends connect to?
Fyi...the fan switch (black switch circled in yellow) was replaced years ago. See butt connecters coming off it. This was getting power today and should still be good...just have to replace the fan it looks like.
I'd really appreciate some help, was under this car for over two hours today in 90f heat trying to figure it out. Thanks all.
