Default question about tiptronic

mine doesn't work anymore. i can put it over in the tip mode and go up and down all i want and nothing. tranny is perfect and shifts flawlessly, but i don't have the tip option anymore. i think i might have slammed it over or back too hard one day because it worked perfectly

There are little magnets that are used to tell the transmission when you are in tip mode and that you are shifting. It is a common problem that the little magnet(s) fell out. Do a search for it and I bet you will find info on taking it apart and fixing it.

here is a link with step by step, how to do it. http://forums.audiworld.com/a6/msgs/705947.phtml

Be carefull when remove shift ****. I did it wrong and that took me nex 30 min. to repair it
"Use soemthing like a paper clip or blade fuse to wedge in the groove on the bottom of the ****'s button so it does not retract into the ****. If you don't do that, it is a PITA to get back out!"
I didn't use any "paper clip" and that make me big problem to put one small spring back.
