Default question on exhaust need help

So I was thinking of getting new exhause and have went to Labree's website and magnaflow and will look at borla here soon but I was searching on the forum and found a thread about exhaust how the tips are exposed on 01s and up and ther was mention about how something on the older ones wouldnt allow the tips to be exposed. I am pretty sure you can get the bumper cut but I just want to make sure you can have them exposed. Also which system would you reccomend for my 99 2.8? Just looking fora little dirrection thanks!

There has been some discussion on the forum about cutting the rear valence so the exhaust tips can be exposed. I don't know the year or models where they are exposed, but they are on my 2003 2.7T and I love the look.

The general answer is that you can [carefully] cut away the rear valence to allow the tips to protrude. Obviously careful measurement is real critical. Not sure if the valence can be or has to be removed. You should do a search on this forum using "exhaust" or "tips". Other than that, I cannot comment on what exhaust to buy. I'm still happily running OEM.

I have a 2.7T 2001. I had the same problem.
Take a dremel to the valance. It doesnt need to be removed.
