Talking Question regarding Xenon Headlights

I have a 2004 A6 2.7T and I was wondering how to get brighter headlights. I've noticed that the new models have whiter and brighter lights especially on low beams. I have no complaint about my high beams.

Do I just have to replace a light bulb or is it a complicated process?

Thanks!

First question is whether you have bi-xenons? I suspect you do, which means you're generating a lot more than "normal" light on low beam. Going to anything stronger will blind other drivers. If for some reason only your high beams are Xenon, then you can buy an HID kit for around $250-400. It's a different bulb and a ballast combination.

Over time the xenons (HIDs) do become weaker. But they ain't cheap to replace.

Talking I don't know if they're bi-xenons

I don't know if they're bi-xenons 'cause i don't know how to determine that. I know that my low beam adjusts every time I turn them on and the light that they create is more blueish. The high beams i guess they're just halogen 'cause they look more white to yellow like (you know what i'm talking about). When i have high beams on it's like daylight so I'm not complaining.

I've seen on the newer models that their low beam is way more brighter than mine. I was driving sided by side and you could tell the difference.

Does this sound familiar? I've seen the new A6 or A8, BMWs and Infinitys that look way more brighter on low beam than mine.

Thanks for all your suggestions!

PS: What is a bi-xenon?

Might be time for a new bulb, HID bulb tends to get dimmer as they older.
