I'm having a problem with the Symphony radio in my 2000 Audi A6 2.7T. Whenever the radio has been off for around 15 minutes or longer, it will not turn back on. I have to take the fuse for the radio out for a minute and then put it back in and re-enter the security code and everything. The radio will work fine until it gets turned off again. Does anyone know w hat might be wrong with it?

 

I think you'll probably have to replace the head unit. It sounds like there's a relay or something inside that has gone bad. I also have a 2000 A6 2.7T that Iboughtused and the previous owner had the Symphony radio replaced twice. I have all the service records and thefirst time they replaced it the owner's complaint was the same as yours - wouldn't turn on.The second time they replace it the complaint was that the radio "doesn't work."

So I don't think they're serviceable - they just have to be replaced.
