Re-sync keyless entry key fob
1999 A6 Avant
Hello all, I had to change the batteries in my keyless remote for the second time in ten years, I couldn't remeber the re-sync procedure so I searched the forum without much luck. I found my owners manual and it lists a very simple procedure:
1. Push lock button on remote
2. In the drivers door, turn key to lock position (doors will lock and alarm will sound)
3. Remove key
4. Test lock, unlock, and trunk buttons on remote (remote should work at this point)
*do all of this within one minute
It's that simple!
I am posting this because I see many posts claiming that you need two keys and/or you have to go through a more complex process to reprogram your remote, I am not sure which all types of vehicles this will work on, but if you have a "switchblade" type key on a 97-03 VW/Audi give it a try it worked for me.
