Rear brake pads and rotors
I just got an estimate of $700 to replace my rear brake pads and rotors (parts and labor). Since its a 2006 model, I am not going to mess with it myself but was wondering if I can save money somehow by buying my own pads and rotors or maybe if someone has any coupon or something for HBL dealership in Northern VA. I usually get service coupons in mail and email but I never save them.
Any thoughts?
Rotor - $118 each
Pads $95 for set
rest is labor

Even if you were able to buy the parts for less, you would onlysave something lessthan $50. I would just bite the bullet and have the dealer do it.
I am suprised that you need rear brakes already. I thought you bought the car a few months ago and that the delay in picking it up was because of the dealer waiting for brake parts in order to be able to replace and certify the car. I guess you must be driving it the same way i drive mine.

I havent been driving hard but again when they certified the car they just make sure that it meets specs even if its really close. Since I was getting a deal I expected some of this but 95% of the things are fixed or repaired under warranty.
Thanks
Thanks
kevin he'll save more than $50 on parts dude
i can get rear rotors and pads for $100 (oem)
and installed for less than $100 more
audia6s, you sure you don't have any local shops that can do the job?

OC,
He said he was going to pay $213 for the parts, you say you can get them for $100, so I standcorrected he can save a little more than $100 if he buys the parts and has the dealer install them as he was suggesting. Personally, in order to avoid the dealer claiming that a problem was caused by someone else's parts I would spend the the extra $113.
Obviously if he wants to save money he should go to an independent. But that was not the question he was asking.

Too late now...its already done....I dont know if I want to take it anyone else and if later on I have an issue... Audi will claim they cannot do anything since they never worked on it. Its still under 4yr/50k warranty
