Well I am not really going to tell you.
But, you know there is only one rear fog light right? The passenger side does not have a fog light because that is not what rear foglights are for. You are supposed to see the drivers side of the car so you know where to pass. If both sides were lit up, you might not know if there were two cars or one.

That said do you still want to know how to replace the bulb? Well you will have to tell us which car. On the wagon, you have to pull out the interior liner on the hatch door (gently). On the A6 I think it is in the trunk lid and there are big plastic screws (I am not positive because I picked the wagon but I have looked at the A6 sedan) (OOPS, didn't see it was on the A6 thread)On the A4, I am not sure but I would assume it is like the A6 and is in the trunk lid behind the trunk liner trim. If not it should be on the drivers side in the tail light assembly.

I am guessing you are looking at the passenger side though, and there have been a few threads about how lame it is, but it makes perfect sense to me so I guess I don't get the threads. By the way, driving with your rear fog lights on all the time is so not cool... it blinds the drivers behind you (and if I ever find that mercedes driver I am going to teach him this principle.)

By the way, welcome to the forums. I like the A6s with the 2.8. Mine has lasted forever. If only can drag another 30000 miles out of it :-)

I believe they changed it for 2002 and included both left AND right fog lights...probably because too many people thought it was a bit unbalanced looking!

Hmm I don't know about that. Even my 2005.5 has only one fog bulb.

I'm glad to read that the 2002 Audi only has one rear fog light. I just bought mine today and was ready to take it back to the dealer tomorrow to have the rear driver's side fog light replaced.

My mistake, I meant the "passenger's side". The drivers side fog light does work.
