In all the Audi recall notices I've read, I've NEVER seen one relating to the belly pan (what I think you're calling the "under engine cover").

My BS meter is pegged on this one.

Actuially, there WAS a recall on the belly pan for additional mounting hardware, to prevent the trailing edge of the bumper's underside from catching a parking curb. I think it was designated the "LQ" recall in the dealer's system. Most cars that were eligible for this repair were just done quietly during the car's regular service visit.

IIRC, that service bulletin or recall included the broken window guides as well.

Of course, as I have learned the ahrd way from my own experience, that the repair does not prevent, but does reduce the likelihood of it happending.

If BD says it is so, it is so. He's forgotten more than most of us know.

You could also call audi usa and give them the vin# and register yourself as current owner and they will check to see that any recall work was done. Also it gives audi usa a current address for any new recalls.
