Default removing amber from headlight housing process?

Hey guys,

i saw a thread on some site once regarding removing the amber pieces from the headlamps to give it a clear look. They had mentioned something about putting in the oven etc..

I was wondering if anyone knows the process or has a link to a step by step on this. any help would be great. thanks.

yea you have to bake the entire headlight housing in the oven... not sure of the temp or time... i will find a link to where i saw it. this loosens the glue so you can take it apart. the problem with this is getting a good tight seal when its time to bake it shut. most of the time it isnt done properly and moisture ends up in the housing causing problems left and right.

You can use a heat gun too... you want it just hot enough to get it opened. When your ready to close, go to the auto parts store and get some 'windshield and headlamp sealant'. Its that black gooey stuff.
