Removing BROKEN STUD
#13
Jack, she's running good.
Moreover, she has now the right amount of fluid in the tranny. It shifts so much better than when I bought it.
There are no leaks of any kind, so its a good sign that I got all the seals right, and bled perfectly the coolant system.
I got no CELs, no warning lights, the battery gauge is on 14, the temp gauge now works as it should (slightly below half), probably the only thing I may need sometime is the oil temp sensor, but I don't worry much about it.
I'm waiting on my friend now to find some time to swap in the new tires (Contis - PremierContact), and pop in the new CV axles + new wheel hubs + bearings.
Later on I will buy cross-drilled/slotted rotors + ceramic pads all around. Can get them off EBay for like $ 218 shipped from Chicago.
Then she will be good for any trip!
There she is (still some body work to be done/completed)- all pics are from today

I invite you all for some stuffed bell peppers a la European style :
-The mixture: ground beef, egg, rice, dill, salt, pepper, spices
- I stuff the peppers and keep the tops as "lids" until I brown them in oil (it softens the skin) - use toothpicks to hold them in place
-Remove them and brown the excess of meat mixture made into little *****
- Remove the lids of peppers, get them back in, add tomatoes and cover them tomato juice + water
- Season the juice to taste, add some dill and oregano and let it cook
- I serve them with sour cream.
Hell yeah!

(My ID is not random. George, where are you?)

Stuffed peppers FTW!

Man those peppers look GOOD!
I have no idea why Blau shorts 1 liter, Crazy considering you just can't run out and buy another. Live and learn I guess.
The back rim came out nice.
Just a Tip; I know your planning to get new tires but I rub the tires with a thin coat of axle grease when I spray the rims then wipe it off when they dry.
Looks like your down to polishing now.
Don't worry Jim you can hold the Map!

But hey, in the Paris-Dakkar rally holding the map and giving the coordinates is as important as holding the donut

Does your cruise control work? Photo speed inforcement is being introduced in some parts of the country. On one trip a year ago there were only 12 speed traps on the way home from NY, with 11 in Ohio. In the future they could replace those with a photo machine every mile and get even more revenue.
I went through all of the tests per the Bentley CD and finally got it to work on my 1998 A6 Quattro wagon by buying a good used module from a local salvage yard. I had already cleaned the speed control switch on the turn signal and replaced the brake switch and vacuum vent switch.
Those green peppers look very tasty, almost like the kind my wife cooks.
