Replacing Headlight bulb.. Help
Hi all,
I have a 2003 Audi A Quattro that has a blown driver side low beam. I can't seem to figure out how to get the bulb out. I can reach the bulb by removing a few things but there's a black, hard plastic circular cover holding the bulb in. Can anyone give me a hint on how to remove it? I'm assuming I have the HID bulbs and I called the dealer and they want $250-300 bucks to replace the bulb which is just too high for me to pay.
Thanks for any advice!
Gary

Both HID and halogen lights use the same kit of retention clip. If you have HID the bulb connector will be marked with a high voltage symbol. To remove the bulb wiring you twist the connector counter-clockwise and pull it off. The black retaining clip is then also removed with a counter-clockwise twist and pull. Re-installation is of course the reverse.
If you have HID you'll probably want to replace the bulbs in pairs to make sure the colour is the same. Don't fall for the blue colour BS with new bulbs, 4300K is the stock bulb temp because it's the temp that most closely approximates daylight.
Morimoto 4330K and Phillips 85122+ seem to be the D2S bulbs of choice, that site is the cheapest I've seen them online. I haven't ordered from the company though so I can't attest to their service or quality.

All went well
Just wanted to follow up, I ordered and replaced the bulbs from the retrofit source - company was good to deal with, actually called and spoke to someone rather than entering my credit card info and hoping I'd see a shipment in a week. Would order from them in a heartbeat, lights work great and the price was unbeatable.
