Replacing info screen on dash

my screen between the meters on the dash is faded and you can only see half of it...where can i buy a new one / what can i do to fix it / is this a common thing?

its a 1998 a6

Pretty common problem. The only fix i know is to replace the entire cluster. Usually around 500 bucks.
