Default Replacing Upper & Lower Oil Pan

Hi,

I am a new member to the forums, and I need some help. I am trying to replace the upper and lower oil pan on my 2002 Audi A6 3.0 V6. I am unable to take off the upper oil pan due to the oil pump. What steps do I have to take in order to replace these parts?

Thank you

Why are you replacing both upper and lower? I haven't heard of anyone having problems with the upper pan. Anyway, you might have to take off the oil pump to do this. If thats the case, its a good oppurtunity to check for any sign of impending failure.

I bought the car a few days ago, and the previous owner hit something that caused the damage to the upper & lower oil pan. The bottom pan had a small hole in it, and the upper had a crack on the side.

How difficult is it to take out the oil pump? What needs to be removed in order to get it out, and install the new oil pans?

That sucks, i believe you just un-bolt the pump and remove the chain. Never done it on a 3.0L engine before, its easy to do on a 2.8L though.

Yea it does, this motor is a bit difficult to work on compared to other car engines. Is there a video on this forum or anything similar showing or explaining how to replace these parts, or even remove the oil pump?

Not that i have seen, you may need to buy a bentley manual to finish that job.

Default Upper Oil Pan

I have a 2002 A6 2.7T that has a cracked upper oil pan. Does anybody have one for sale?

Does anybody have any type of instructions on how to remove and replace the upper pan?

Thanks
