Default Rims & Tyres (A6&C5)

Hi! That's my first post here) After 6 month of reading...
I've just bought 8j*17*ET35 wheels 4 my A6_2,4mt_2003!
As I read some members use such rims on A6.
My q-n is: is it possible to put this wheels in 235*45 tyres without rubbing?
comparing to 225*45 235*45 wheels will have +5mm in radius (about 1,5% speed error)...

May be 225*50*17 fits.... + 12mm radius....
I don't want to get much lower than 205*55...

No problem. I run 235/45 tires on my 17x8" wheels on my C5 A6. No rubbing and they look great.

Thx!Almost random choise was quite nervous...
Some more q-ns
Don't you have problems with sand and small stonesthrowing from wide wheels to car body and chiping it?
Also want to get your opinion about performance decrease on my car comparing with stock 205/55/16 tyres? I have 170hp/230nm in stock and i'm quite an easy-tempereddriver...
Is it necessary to put some light upgrade in my car to getstock performance back with new 225 / 235 tyres?(replace intake filteror chip)?
Or it will not be significant load for engine to run +20mm widertyres?

No problems whatsoever with additional chipping. At this width and wheel offset, the wheels are just tucked in -- no sticking out at all (I'd never go for the tractor look!).

You will not see a performance decrease -- quite the contrary. You will see a performance improvement in how the car handles. The lower profile of the tire will increase turn-in (i.e., responsiveness to the initiation of a turn -- you'll feel the response of turning the steering wheel more quickly) and the wider stance will increase adhesion in the turns. The wider width will NOT have a perceptible effect on engine performance. No need to chip or anything like that to offset addition tire width. The more important variable is wheel weight. You will always benefit with lighter wheels -- must make sure they're strong AND light.

Good luck.

I got Ronal R7 wheels
http://www.ronalusa.com/cars/audi_a6.html
8j*r17 wheel weight 23,5 lbs (10,5 kg)...
But i was not able to find oem r16 wheel weight to compare...
oem steel disk must be havier than 10,5 kg.... but oem aluminium wheel weight can be less than 23.5 lbs....
