Default S4 caliper for A6's?

Hi folks,
New here to the forum, but an Audi owner for 15+ years. I currently "only" have a 2000 A6 Avant Quattro.
I found some S4 brake calipers in a salvage yard and am wondering if they will fit my A6 without much modifications. Has anyone tried this before? Would I need to upgrade my rotors, also?

Thanks for any help.

which a6 do you have? i think the 2.7, and 4.2 use the same caliper as the s4. this leads me to believe the rotors are the same or interchangeable.

The 2.7T definitely has a larger diameter rotor than the 2.8/3.0, so if the S4 is the same size as the 2.7T, you'll need new rotors. I could not tell you if they would bolt on.

Thanks for the reply folks. I have the 2.8, unfortunately. It was the only engine choice for that year...pretty whimpy for the extra weight wagon. I'm pretty sure the caliper and new rotors would bolt on, but didn't know if I would need to upgrade the brake cylinders or not, or other mods that I may not be aware of. I'd assume that I wouldn't be able to use my winter 15" wheels if I changed things.
