Sorry guys.

I am learning that there are good Audi years and bad Audi years. My 89 200QT went 350K miles with only a few issues. My 95 A6 went just over 200K before someone totaled it. and my current 97 A6 Avant has 228 K with only a few problems.

I heard that the early 1990's, early C5's ( mid to late 1990's) and 2000 thru 2003 or 4 had problems. A friend recently told me how much he liked his 2003 A6 but got rid of it at the end of the warantee because it had many things go wrong with it. He is now driving a Honda SUV and said that he missed the Audi ride but this vehicle spends more time with him instead of the mechanic.

Yeah, you couldn't catch me dead owning a Japenese vehicle. I just find them so plain and in my opinion, they just totally lack soul. It's weird, but everytime I get in my friend's Tundra or his wife's Civic, I'm just like "Wow, this vehicle is soooo boring". They are totally utilitarian in that they are designed to get you from A to B. Yes, I know, there are sportier offerings, etc, but I know they'll still seem as plain and soul-less on the inside. The only exception I can think of is my buddy had an RX-7. That was a cool car, but mainly b/c it is so unique w/ the Rotary motor. I'd consider one of those...or maybe a twin turbo Supra. I can create soul (or at least a lot of hp) in either of those.

Anyway, back on track.....

The car has seemed to fix itself for now. The trans code has went away and the brake pressure code is still there and showing intermittent, but I guess it's not often enough to throw CEL. I clear it and it eventually comes back. Maybe the car knows I have it on the trading block?!? I know fora fact that I'm the best owner it'll ever have, so hopefully it realizes that and quits giving me so much $#!+.

I think the best feature Audi has as compared to other vehicles is the kick down acceleration. Beyond that, although maybe too simplistically put, it's just another car with its own problems - maybe more than others have.

Try getting the idle corrected, I wonder if the brake system is messed up because of the super low idle? It does have a vac tube attached to it.
