i have a 95 a6, and the tripometer button or whatever it is, is what controls my little screen ur talking about, hold it in to reset the trip, just push it real quick and it cycles through all the symbols then says ok at the end, idk what the other ppl are talking about when they say theres something under the wiper lever, the only things i have under that is the adjustments for the steering wheel

The 1997 owners manual should talk about how to change the time on the clock. The control **** for changing the time also will cycle the symbols for the "OK" screen. This control **** is on the far left side of the instrument panel. The clock is on the right side.

It sounds as though your Auto-Check System is malfuctioning, since you only get a blank white screen. The screen is backlit with several instrument panel bulbs. If all of these bulbs were out, you could still shine a flashlight at the screen. Perhaps not all of the bulbs are working. With the car stationary and the ignition on, briefly press the **** down to see a symbol, and repeat for the next symbol. However, this may not happen if you are getting a red or a yellow warning symbol.

it don't think it has to do with the bulbs. it lights up. but that's it. it might have to just wait till i get back to montana.
