Default secondary air injection pump issues

ok so i pulled the check engine codes out of my 01 2.7 and the 2 codes were for bank 1 and bank 2 air injection too low. i hooked the pump up to an outside electrical source when i had the motor apart this week and the pump works and blows tons of air, and the 2 hoses going from the pump to the valves looked fine. i can imagine both valves went bad considering the car just got inspected in february. so what im asking for is if anyone has any info, id really like some type of flow chart of any of the manuals anyone has has one or steps to check to eliminate problems that could cause this, my mechanic said it could be a bad seliniod that turns it on or maybe even a fuse but said if i could find a chart it would help alot. if anyone has anything please let me know!!! thanks alot

If the pump works then it is either a broken vacuum line, plugged line to the exhaust, or bad solenoid valve. Since it is both sides I suspect a leaky vacuum line.

You didn't say if the was power to the pump - might be a fuse!

well i was thinking maybe a fuse or seliniod that turns it on and off cause it works fine with an outside electrical source attached. but if its both sides not getting enough you really think a leaking line on each side could be it? i mean the car was inspected in feb. and passed, it just seems weird that a line on each side would fail in that time period. the main larger plastic tube that goes from the pump to each valve on the back or the cylinder heads is in great shape. so its not that tube. and he said he didnt see any major lines that were broken when he had the car all apart... but yet again i was more worried about getting the valve cover seals done then the air pump looked at

i had a cel for a couple months for this. all vac lines were good, but the main crank case breather was cracked completely at the end so i'm guessing that was the culprit (even though it isn't involved in the average discussion about SAI) my cel didn't go away immediately, i had to clear it twice in a week and it stayed off for good, allowing me to finally pass smog!

well i found the issue. the air pump fuse was blwon. for anyone that might want to look for this the fuse it underneath the platic cover that covers the battery and cabin air filter, you just slid off the weather stipping and slide the panel off, on the drivers side there is the box where the computer lives... its the 40 amp fuse in there

I will have to look for that fuse. I too have an error code due to the Secondary Air Injection Solinoid...

Thanks
