Seriously Major oil leak!
Oh... I can see where this is going. 
In theory, yes... an engine should still start, but not for very long. If it isn't turning over and you lost a substantial and ran it with a small amount of oil then you might be in trouble.

Well, I may be in trouble then.
I have already stated this earlier in the thread so I'll bullet point.
- Replaced both valve cover gaskets and passenger side cam tensioner seal
- Filled the oil and cranked teh car
- Car ran for 3 seconds
- Motor was knocking pretty bad
- I thought motor sounded like that because it had no oil and the cam tensioners did not get enough oil pressure to adjust
- Ran out of battery and couldn't start car again
- Car turns over smoothly and does not sound bad
- Charged battery and tried again
- Car almost starts
- Huge stream of oil coming from atop and around the oil cooler.
- Constant sad face now.
