Slow shifting on 99 A6
New to the site so bare with me.
1999 A6 Quattro 2.8L with ZF 5HP19 Auto. trans.
What the original issue was when giving the car some gas it was like the torque converter was working intermittently (kicking in and out). So doing alot of reading and research I deemed the converter was the issue. Replaced the converter and changed fluid and filter, now all works well but the transmission shifts slow/long. It takes about 3-4 full seconds to shift and this includes all gears. Once it shifts there is no slipping. I am stumped, the car has 119000 miles, when I was replacing the trans. fluid I was not able to get the 17mm plug out to tell me when it was full (this was fun trying to guess amount). I used Quaker State fluid that was compatible with the transmission (or so it said). I have checked all the connections on the transmission and on the computer in the passenger floor. I am open to any suggestions/comments. I plan on trying again to remove the 17mm plug, FYI.
Thanks
