Arrow Some help with CEL's and OBDII

So, my a6 had the cats removed before i bought it. I have always thrown 2 CEL's relating to fuel trim too lean, I dont have the codes on hand but it was almost def these:
P0170 Fuel Trim Error (bank1)
P0171 Sys too Lean (bank1)
P0173 Fuel Trim Error (bank2)
P0174 Sys too Lean (bank2)

So assuming these were caused by the cats I went out and got defoulers put on the O2 sensors. Im stilling receiving the same codes and now Ive read on here that these codes are probably caused by the MAF.

So, does anyone have a good idea as to what is causing these codes?
If its not the lack of cats then are my O2 sensors bad since they arent throwing a code for the cats?

What else can I do to pass inspection? almost everything in obdii readiness is reading failed.

Thanks in advance for any ideas you may have.

Cats are required to pass inspection in most states and without them working corectly the vehicle will fail readiness. You most likely need to get new cats..

What are defoulers?

BTW -- you would get better ifo from VagCOM that you'll get with the generic OBDII
Do a search to see the best way to get VagCOM.
