Do you have any photgraphs of the failed timming belt? Did the belt teeth fail before it completely broke? You said it jumped a tooth. The timming belt runs over two ball bearing idlers and the water pump, so be sure these were replaced. One of the idlers is the tensioner. Also, be sure to always use a torque wrench, as Audi bolts have a strange way of snapping or stripping the threads.
I have a 1998 Audi A6 Quattro wagon on which the right front outer CV joint 16 mm bolt hole threads were stripped by the previous owner. Beware of shops which improperly use the impact wrench on this bolt, instead of a torque wrench.
