Default Spark Plugs DIC

Audi A6 2002 3.0. 84K

Car had a bad coil on cylinder #6. Car threw a P306 code (flashing CEL) so I had it towed on the spot (per Audi Forums) instructions. Shop replaced
the DIC (Beck Arnley unit $31.00) on the cylinder. I think I saved the cat, but only time will tell. Car passed emissions a few weeks ago, so I have a at least a year until I need it again.

Shop said, once one DIC goes bad the others aren't far behind. So I'm going to buy 5 more DIC's and drop in some new plugs. Any recommendations on spark plugs ? Dealer said NGK Platinums will be fine, I just need to confirm the plugs and ask how hard is it to put in new plugs and the new DIC's.

Thanks ...........

plugs from the dealer should not be too much more than anywhere else. I would just pick them up there if it's close buy and save yourself the hassle of figuring out what is best. Also pick up some oil, my local Audi dealer sells Euro Castrol Syntec 5w-40 for 33.00 for 6qts out the door.

Normally I don't recommend the dealer, but when it comes to oil and plugs, they generally are pretty cheap.

When you change the coils save the old ones and put one in with the spare tire for emergencies. I also put a little Di-electric grease on the top of each spark plug and in the coil terminal to help the connection before I push the coils on.
also you may want to give the female pins in the terminal a little pinch with a small pick/dentist tool to tighten them up.
