Default Starter replacement help!!!

The starter on my 2000 2.7T broke down so I was going to try to replace it myself. I was searching in google for starter diy but couldnt find anything helpful. If anybody had a starter replacement before or know enything about it, any help I would appreciate!!!

It's actually a pretty big job, i did this on an A4 I had and now on my 00 A6 4.2. You have to pull the front bumper, headlights, rad cradle support, radiator and AC conderser to get to the front of the engine. Then you have to pull the alternator which reveals the passenger side engine mount. You then jack up the engine and remove the engine mount. This gives you access to the starter which is pulled out through the opening where the monunt and the aternator were. Since your car is a twin turbo, the turbo might cause you a couple issues with lack of room.

One piece of advice, if you do this yourself get the alternator rebuilt also, the last thing you want to do is have to take the car apart again in a month because your alternator went.
