I have a 2006 Avant with Advanced Keyless starting. Every now and then when starting the car the engine studders and will sometimes die. Lately on a few occassions the car will turn over but will not fire up. This carries on for several seconds enough to actually hit the stop button. On the second try it will normally fire up lke normal. The entire car shakes as if the car is not firing all cylinders. No codes have popped up and after two visits to the dealer nothing was found.

We both use the starter button and had wondered if the battery was low if it could cause this issue. I have replaced the battery or so I think I have and no change. This problem happens mainly cold but has happened after 3 hours of driving when pitting for a bit to eat.

Has anyone else had any sort of issue like this? And if so what did they find as the problem.

Audi experienced several problems with the earlier advanced key switches. There is a TSB on the issue regarding the replacement of the switch. I am sure that the dealer is aware of the problem.
