suspension and tire question for 99 A6
so i recently purchased a 99 a6 2.8 and it is by far the nicest car i have ever owned, hands down. the only problem i forsee is that now i can never go back to driving anything american made.
within the next few weeks i will be purchasing a set of 18" hyper silver rs6 deep dish wheels. my questions are the following. is anyone running a set of the eibach lowering springs on their a6? also for those of you running a set of 18's on their a6, what size tire are you running? i would love to run a 245 tire but i dont want any rubbing when im at full steering lock...
great site, and i hope to become well versed in my Audi smarts asap!
thanks

Congrats on the a6! Welcome to Club!!! The stock wheels on that model as im sure you know are 15" and upgrade to 16". Because the s6 or a6 s-line is basically the same car with tighter suspension but a hair lower and is available with 17" and 18" rims. Using the 18's should be no problem. The hight clearence will not be your problem but the width. As you start to get into the 245's and up you start to push the depth threshold. Notice the a6 4.2 which does come with 245's has a wider flared fender. When you look at rims for a6's it will always clasify the 4.2 by itself. 235's will fit no prob. As far as custom lowering or springs, all bets are off as you will be the one to know how much clearence you have left yourself with. Good Luck!!!
