Hi guys, I'm new to the forum.
I've just bought a lovely Audi A6 1997 2.8 SE - it's in great condition.

I'm looking for a tape deck adapter for Audi concert system that'll work with my iPhone.
I know a lot of people would say use an iTrip or similar but this won't work as I've using the TomTom iPhone kit and there's no where to plug that in - but there is 3.5mm audio out.

I bought a cheap £10 tape adapter from Maplin but tape deck just spits it back out again.

Any thoughts?

PS My airbag light is permanently on too - any ideas on whether I can solve this problem myself or will definitely need a service?

 

FM Transmitter perhaps? I've never tried one, so don't know about quality.

I think there are some that will charge the iphone as well as transmit to selected radio frequencies at the same time, or you will end up with an iphone with flat batteries pretty quick.
