Temperature keeps switching from Farenheit to Celcius

Temperature keeps switching from Farenheit to Celcius

The outdoor temperature reading in my 03 A6 switches from F to C everytime the car is started. I have to keep switching it back to F by the procedure in the manual. Any one know what the deal is?

Something is wrong with the A/C control head's memory circuit. More than likely the a/c control head needs to be replaced.
