Ticking noise in dash??

RE: Ticking noise in dash??
Hey I had the same problem. I took it in and it was a relay located under the dashboard.
It was covered under the warranty and I am not sure exactly what relay it was but let me know and I can look it up in the papers.

I will definitely look into that, thanks a lot for the suggestion! Also, did your ticking not happen all the time, for example, when i usually start my car after it's been sitting for a while, but after some time and heat usage, it starts. Thanks again.

RE: Ticking noise in dash??
I have this same ticking, not a buzz, and mine comes from the area of the headlamp on/off switch in my '04 A6.
Happens about 50% of the time I start my car, lasts for about 5 seconds, no pattern, just a random tick.
I think I'l have to check the car for Lymes disease.

Ive never had this on my Audi, but my VW had this issue - It sounded like the turn signal click - comming from my dash. I replaced the relay (the cheap option). The VW dealer sold me the relay for $24 and told me if it doesnt solve the problem to just return the relay.
This didnt solve the problem for me, but what i did read and try is just some electrical contact cleaner and conditioner from Radio Shack and spray it in the turn signal stalk. This solved the problem - turns out the turn signal stalk connector was dirty casuing the relay to fire.
Its a cheap solution that wont work for everyone, but worked for me.
