First let me start by telling you about the car.
It is a 2003 A6 quatro 3.0 automatic. It was dealer maintained until I purchased the car from the original owner at 85k I use 0w-40 mobile 1 and change at 5k.
It currently has 115k on it now.

Well anyway recently it has developed a tick tick tick on a cold start up,
It seems to be coming from the drivers side top end. I have combed the post's and all I can find is this issue on the 2.8L, which is the timing chain tensioner.
However the tensioner on the 3.0 seems to be a lot different, and with a cost of around $750 for the part plus a major PITA to put it in I would like to see if any one else has had the same issue.

This is my first post to this forum because I have always been able to find the info i need without starting a new thread.
