Default Tie rod issue

I went to get an alignment after having the right side wheel bearings replaced, and the tech was able to adjust the right front but could not adjust the left becasue he said when he turns the outer tie rod it just spins in the inner and will not adjust. Has anyone heard of this before and do I need to change the inner and outer tie rods? Thanks for any help with this.

I'll bet he said, "when he turns the inner it just spins in the outer". And yes, you need new tie rods. The stock rod ends came with rubber inside the outer tie rod end and that is what has given up the ghost on your car. Get it replaced before it lets go entirely!
